Today, we’re giving you the lowdown on Litecoin (LTC). Initially dubbed “the silver to Bitcoin’s gold”, LTC was developed in 2011 by former Google computer scientist, Charlie Lee.

But it’s more than just a rival to Bitcoin – it was actually created from a copy of BTC’s source code, with a few minor adjustments. Those adjustments included low costs and instant transaction speeds, in an attempt to make LTC an improved version of BTC.
