We’ve upgraded our crypto custody provider!

We’ve recently made some changes to our crypto custody provider. All cryptocurrencies available in the Wirex app are now supported by leading crypto custody platform, Fireblocks!

While many of our newer tokens were already supported by Fireblocks, we decided it was time to upgrade our remaining cryptocurrencies, as well.

This means that your tokens now have a new crypto address, which has replaced your old addresses.

In the meantime, here’s what the upgrade means for your crypto:

Lower blockchain fees

Sending crypto? Save as much as 67% on gas fees when transferring funds, thanks to Fireblocks’ cutting-edge Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology.

One address for all tokens

Use just one crypto address for all of your tokens on a wide range of blockchains, including Ethereum, Polygon and Avalanche.

Native SegWit support for bitcoin

Benefit from significant blockweight savings by sending crypto with a SegWit address. Not sure if your address supports SegWit? If the address on the receive screen begins with “bc1”, you’re good to go!

Still seeing same old deposit adress in app

I just sent a few hundred to my Usdc erc-20 address and it had been over 90 minutes, not 90 seconds, and it had not yet posted on my account. Below is the TX hash.
